Masks No Longer Required in New York State Health Care Facilities

Masks are no longer required in health care facilities in New York state

It was one of the final mask mandates in place for New York, and the state allowed the mandate expire Sunday because of decreasing levels of COVID.

It's just shy of the three-year anniversary of the when the first known cases of COVID-19 were detected in New York, and officials say the updated guidance is in line with CDC recommendations.

Facilities such as nursing homes, hospitals, home health care and hospice agencies, and diagnostic and treatment centers had all been required to enforce the wearing of masks.
