Macedon Police Chief Apologizes

Suspended Macedon Police Chief Fabian Rivera says he's taking full responsibility for an incident in December, and attributes it to mental health issues that he's battling with help from his family, friends and the VA Clinic in Rochester.

In a statement this afternoon (Thu), Chief Rivera says he's breaking the stigma attached to veteran mental health within law enforcement. He says he can't be ashamed or embarassed and he needs to continue to be both a servant and a leader. Rivera thanked the town board for their support and Macedon Supervisor Kim Leonard.

On December 10th, Rivera was drunk and caused a disturbance at a restaurant on Route 31, falling over several times and cutting his face. He also refused to leave the restaurant and threatened the staff.
