Mayor Evans Announces Information-Sharing Deal Between Police, UCLM

Rochester Mayor Malik Evans is announcing an information sharing deal between the city police department and one its biggest critics, the United Christian Leadership Ministry.

Evans calls it an open exchange of information about the body camera program that will increase public confidence in the police.

Under the agreement, members of the faith group will be enrolled in citizen training programs about police procedures and the use of the body cameras.

Evans also is pledging faster responses to Freedom of Information Law requests, including redacted video footage of use-of-force incidents.
