Rochester Under State of Emergency for Water Main Break, Winter Storm

A State of Emergency is now in effect for Rochester, as crews continue to deal with the water main break.

The boil water advisory for downtown, most of the South Wedge and most of the West Side is expected to continue through at least Saturday, if not Christmas Day.

Mayor Malik Evans says the water main break and the oncoming winter storm are a double-whammy.

If you aren't sure if your street is in the advisory area, you can call 3-1-1.

Ford Street remains closed at the site of the water main break between West Main and Troup Street.

City schools are closed tomorrow, and most other Monroe County schools are expected to close due to the oncoming storm.
