Bill Would Ban TikTok on State-Issued Devices

State lawmakers could be looking to ban TikTok on government-issued devices.

A downstate State Senator has introduced a bill that would keep the popular app off state-issued cellphones, laptops, tablets, or anything that connects to the internet.

Officials are concerned TikTok's parent ByteDance could share the data gathered by the app with the Chinese Communist Party.

Several other states have taken up similar measures.

No action is expected until the next legislative session begins after the new year.
