A judge in Rochester has sentenced former principal Kirk Ashton to a total of 63 years in prison for abusing 21 boys at Northwood Elementary School in Hilton.
Judge Alex Renzi told Ashton he must pay the price for preying on vulnerable boys.
He also issued 21 orders of protection on behalf of the abused children that will remain in effect until 2049.
Renzi told Ashton the boys needed solace from someone they could trust and Ashton abused them for his own sexual gratification.
Ashton was convicted at this trial on 46 charges.
However, penal law caps Ashton's prison time at 20 years.
He and the school district are still facing civil lawsuits.
