Democratic Congressman Joe Morelle scored a narrow, but definite 53 percent to 46 percent victory over Republican Challenger La'Ron Singletary in the 25th Congressional District.
The race was too close to call for most of the night, until Morelle pulled ahead with the final votes.
Congressman Morelle himself did not appear at Democratic headquarters last night.
Democratic State Assembly Member Harry Bronson easily won re-election, as did Democrats Demond Meeks and Sarah Clark.
In the 55th State Senate District, Incumbent Democrat Samra Brouk won a decisive victory over Republican Len Morrell, 57 to 42 percent.
Republican Robert Ortt won running unopposed in the 62nd District apart from about a hundred write-in votes.
