Krauseneck Sentenced to 25-to-Life for Wife's Ax Murder

James Krauseneck has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison, the maximum allowed by law for the 1982 ax murder of his wife, Cathy, at the couple's home in Brighton.

He was found guilty of second-degree murder in September.

Krauseneck had maintained that his wife was killed while he was at work, but a new analysis by a prominent pathologist indicated she died while he was still at home.

His attorney has said there will be an appeal.
