Local Health Officials Say "Tri-Demic" Could Overwhelm Area Hospitals

Local health officials say area hospitals could be overwhelmed if the so-called "tri-demic" comes to pass this winter.

University of Rochester Medical Center CEO Kathy Parrinello says hospitals are still dealing with a backlog of patients needing a nursing home bed.

So far, officials say they haven't seen an uptick in hospitalizations for COVID-19, flu, or RSV.

But they're asking residents to make sure they take the proper precautions to prevent severe illness, and thus keep pressure off the hospital system
