Children Ages 5 Through 11 Can Now Get COVID-19 Booster Shots in New York

Children in New York between the age of 5 and 11 are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 booster shot.

The State Department of Health updated its guidance this week -- based on updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control.

Kids can now receive the booster as long as it has been at least two months since their last vaccine dose or last booster shot.

The shot has been said to be the most effective in targeting both the original COVID strain and omicron strain, which are the two most infectious types.
