Judge Blocks Parts of New York's New Gun Laws

A federal judge has struck down parts of the state's new gun laws.

The judge blocked the new requirements for gun permit background checks, which includes disclosing social media accounts.

He also curtailed the of places where guns can be banned, limiting them mostly to government buildings, polling places, and schools.

Weapons are still not allowed in places of worship, unless held by someone tasked with security.

The judge's ruling will not go into effect until next week, allowing for the state to appeal.
