Monroe County Executive Adam Bello Says Bail Reform Law Must Be Changed

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello wants changes to the bail reform law.

He says the criminal justice system needs to stop letting people arrested for gun crimes back on the streets.

A suspect in the gunfight Wednesday in Rochester that wounded a three-year-old had been convicted in a gunfight last year and was free on bail while awaiting sentencing.

Bello says that shows the system is broken.

Monroe County Undersheriff Kory Brown says the Sheriff's Office will have extra cars and personnel available to the City in an effort to respond faster to crimes.
