Police say the lockdown that began overnight at Rochester General Hospital was prompted by a livestream on social media posted by a suicidal man that was traced to East Rochester.
Rochester police Lieutenant Greg Bello says the FBI saw it first, and reported it to the RPD around 1 a.m.
The stream seemed to include a threat to the hospital and a list of employees.
The suicidal man was traced to the address on De Paul Drive, off Linden Avenue,
A man's body has been found inside, and deputies found a "hazardous" device.
Monroe County Chief Deputy Michael Fowler says the device has been disabled and the threat to public safety is over.
It was apparently a booby-trapped shotgun, rigged to go off if someone opened the front door.
The lockout was lifted at 9:30, and the hospital is no longer diverting ambulances to other hospitals.
Bello says no danger was ever present at the hospital, and everyone there is safe.
