The new law only limits the sale of the "chargers" that are found inside the cans.
A convenience store near Albany began restricting the whipped cream sales earlier this month, and a story in the news media there spread across the state.
But the state Senator who sponsored the law put out a statement this week, saying the language and intent of his legislation was misinterpreted.
