There's a new special prosecutor for the case against the man accused of attacking candidate for governor Lee Zeldin.
Erie County District Attorney John Flynn will handle the case.
David Jakubonis allegedly approached Zeldin with a two-pronged "cat knuckle" weapon at a Zeldin campaign stop in Fairport.
Monroe County DA Sandra Doorley recused herself from the case last month over ethics concerns tied to her brief stint as a co-chair of Zeldin's campaign for governor.
