Monkeypox Now Deemed Imminent Health Threat in New York State

The monkeypox virus is now being called an imminent threat to public health in New York State.

That declaration by the state health department means that local health departments will be able to get additional state reimbursement after other funding sources are tapped out. Governor Hochul says 110-thousand doses of monkeypox vaccine will be arriving in the state in next few weeks. Roughly 80-thousand doses will go to New York City and the remaining doses will be distributed around the state.
