Monroe County Legislature President Sabrina Lamar has introduced Buffalo criminal defense attorney Robert Fogg as her pick for the county's next public defender.
Lamar says she's taken a long time announcing this decision because she wanted it to be free of politics.
Most of the Democrats on the legislature favor another candidate, Assistant Public Defender Julie Cianca.
The appointment requires a vote of the full legislature.
