Federal authorities are investigating the small plane crash near the Canandaigua Airport.
The single-engile plane went down in a field off Yerkes Road yesterday afternoon.
Ontario County Deputy Tate Colburn says the pilot ejected before the crash.
The pilot was airlifted to Strong hospital and is expected to survive.
A neighbor mowing a lawn saw the crash and called 911.
