Authorities are not sure how exactly Brittanee Drexel died.
ABC15 in South Carolina reports the Georgetown County Coroner has listed the cause of her death to be undetermined.
The coroner could not find any evidence of manual strangulation.
Drexel went missing while on Spring Break in Myrtle Beach in 2009.
Her remains were found earlier this month, and convicted sex offender Raymond Moody has been charged with murder.
