Report: State Legislature Could Shift Local Elections to Even Years

There appears to be a push in the state legislature to shift all local elections across the state from the odd-numbered years to the even ones.

That's according to a senior elected official, who spoke with Bob Lonsberry on the condition of anonymity.

Former Monroe County Republican Chairman Bill Reilich says it appears to be a move to boost Democratic Party fortunes in local elections.

Reilich also points out that moving the local races into busier election years will make it tougher for local candidates to get their messages noticed in broadcast ads and mailers.
