Captured Rochester Hitman Pleads Guilty to Escape Charge

Dominic Taddeo

A Rochester mob hitman has pleaded guilty to federal escape charges.

64-year-old Dominic Taddeo was caught by U.S. Marshals in Miami last month.

This was a week after Taddeo left a halfway house in Florida for a medical appointment and didn't return.

Prosecutors say Taddeo had a fake driver's license and $5,000 in cash when he was caught.

He was sentenced in the early 90s to 54 years in prison on federal racketeering charges.

Taddeo faces up to 5 more years in prison on this new conviction.

He previously had been on the run for several years after he was linked to the contract killings of three men in 1982 and 1983.
