We now know the Republican candidates for Congress in the new 23rd Congressional District.
It stretches across the Southern Tier, and includes the southern part of Livingston County.
Utica-area Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is running in the new district, because her own has been redrawn to favor Democrats.
The other Republicans who filed petitions to run are southern Erie County businessman Ray Juliano and Broome County educator George Phillips.
Tenney was endorsed by former President Trump.
The winner of the Republican primary will face Yates County Democrat Max DelaPia in November.
