Governor Hochul is behind a new push to boost COVID vaccination rates among children.
As part of the state's #VaxForKids initiative, she announced a series of bilingual ads featuring pediatricians -- who are also parents -- encouraging other parents to get children vaccinated. She cited recent research showing fully vaccinated children between five-and-seventeen are protected from COVID-related hospitalization by at least 65-percent.
Just over 72-percent of New York's twelve-to-seventeen-year-olds and 36-percent of five-to-eleven-year-olds are fully vaccinated.
