Judge Stays Ruling Against New York Redistricting

A state appellate judge has stayed last week's lower court order directing state lawmakers to redraw the new congressional and legislative districts.

The stay is in effect until at least Thursday, when the appeals court will hear arguments in the case.

The lower court judge in Steuben County ruled last week that the districts were illegally drawn to help Democrats.

The judge gave the legislature until next Monday to redraw the maps.
