Rochester school officials are confirming an East High security guard was assaulted by a student at the school this morning.
They sent a message to parents, saying the student was trying to bring a weapon into the school -- that appeared to be a gun.
They then say the student immediately fled, and the building was put into lockout.
The student has since been identified, and the district says they're taking disciplinary action.
They also say the weapon never made it beyond security.
There's no word on the extent of the injuries to the security guard.
