UPDATE: We now know the causes of death in yesterday's apparent murder-suicide.
State Police say both RPD officer Melvin Williams and city 911 center employee Janet Jordan died of gunshot wounds.
Williams's wound was self-inflicted.
Jordan was found dead inside a home on Wetmore Park yesterday.
Williams was later found dead inside a vehicle in Henrietta.
Original Story:
Rochester Mayor Malik Evans says murdered city emergency communications worker Janet Jordan was "a beloved and respected colleague."
Jordan also was an instructor in the City's Pathways to Public Safety Program.
Sources tell Bob Lonsberry she was stabbed to death at an address on Wetmore Park. The person of interest -- off-duty Rochester Police Sergeant Melvin Williams -- was found dead in a vehicle at Veterans Memorial Park in Henrietta.
State police are handling the investigation and have not said publicly how Jordan and Williams died.
Williams was a 14-year police veteran and lived in Henrietta.
