Fmr. Greece Deputy Chief Sues Over Demotion

A veteran police officer in Greece has filed notice he intends to sue over his demotion in the aftermath of his boss' drunken-driving crash.

Casey Voelkl claims he was wrongly demoted for being a whistleblower.

Voelkl was the deputy chief at the time of Chief Drew Forsythe's crash in October.

He says he became concerned -- in the first days after the crash -- about the handling of the investigation by the police department and the town.

He says he raised those concerns with the D-A's office.

An outside investigator concluded that Voelkl was responsible for botching the investigation.
