Public Defender Charged in Court Scuffle

The public defender who got into a scuffle with court security in Rochester City Court last fall is facing misdemeanor charges.

Catherine Ejimadu pleaded not guilty today to contempt, harassment, and obstruction of government administration.

As first reported by the D&C, court transcripts indicate she was told by a judge she could not go to a holding area to try to calm a colleague's disruptive client.

Ejimadu complained she was grabbed by security and there was another scuffle.

She and three deputies were injured.
