Rochester Institute of Technology is Pushing Back its Booster Shot Deadline

The Rochester Institute of Technology says some of its COVID-19 restrictions may ease in light of declining COVID numbers and a high vaccination rate on campus.

RIT is postponing its February 28 booster deadline for students, faculty, and staff.

They are extending the deadline to the end of the semester on May 15th.

RIT's website says that the deadline was set at a time when COVID infection rates were high, but that's no longer the case.

They say there could be further changes if COVID numbers keep going down or should go up again.

They continue to say the best protection is to get vaccinated and boosted.
