A Rochester man has been sentenced to more than 48 years in prison for his involvement in a murder that was linked to drug trafficking.
38-year-old Luis Rios Morales was found guilty of murder and other charges including drug and illegal gun possession.
He was convicted of shooting Jose Ubiles Melendez in the back of the head in August of 2019.
An investigation by the local narcotics task force and the Monroe County Heroin Task Force turned up evidence linking Morales to the crime.
Raids linked to that investigation seized six handguns, six shotguns, five rifles, plus more than ten pounds of fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin.
Nine other people were also arrested on weapon and drug charges.
