Man Has Been Convicted After He Brought a Gun to Strong Hospital

A jury has convicted a man who was accused of bringing a loaded gun to Strong hospital.

Prosecutors say 27-year-old Harvey Alexander Jr. was seen last May dropping the gun in the maternity ward.

He was quickly arrested by University of Rochester public safety officers.

He had been released from the corrections department four months earlier and was prohibited from owning a gun.

The D-A says he is a violent repeat offender and faces at least seven years in prison when he is sentenced in April.
