An optician in Wyoming County has been found guilty in a Medicaid fraud scheme.
The state attorney general's office says Thomas Foote received $74,000 in fraudulent Medicaid payments over four years. He was accused of submitting false claims for services he never provided, some on behalf of people who had died.
He was ordered to serve 90 days behind bars and pay full restitution.
Foote previously pleaded guilty to grand larceny for pocketing $21,000 while he was serving as treasurer for a youth soccer organization.
