The independent commission that's been trying to redraw the state's congressional and legislative districts has until tomorrow to submit new proposals.
If the Democrats and Republicans on the commission can't agree on the new district boundaries, Democrats in the legislature can take over the process.
The state is losing a congressional seat, and current Republicans Tom Reed and John Katko have both ruled out running for a new term.
