Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says he won't be a candidate for governor this year.
In a video statement, he ruled out a primary challenge to incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul, but said he will focus on fighting inequality in the state.
A Siena poll out today showed de Blasio trailing Hochul by more than 30 points in a potential primary matchup.
Hochul's announced primary opponents include Long Island Congressman Tom Suozzi and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.
