Firefighters arrived after receiving multiple calls about a fire around 3 this morning on Rowley street
The fire started in the basement and caused significant smoke damage leaving the apartments not habitable.
The red cross is working with the 12 people displaced to find them temporary housing.
It took the officers 40 minutes to get the fire under control.
No one was inside the building except for a dog who was rescued.
A firefighter received minor injuries and was taken to the hospital
