The Rochester City School District says today it's switching to remote learning...starting tomorrow, Thursday, January 6th.
The district says that this is a temporary measure and they hope to return to in-person learning next Tuesday, when more teachers and subs are expected to be available.
School Superintendent Lesli Myers-Small told the school board last night this move could be imminent, because 40 percent of students called in sick on Monday, and 11 percent of the teachers and staff.
The district says all students should log onto Google Classroom or Seesaw tomorrow and complete their work assignments. On Friday and Monday, students will log in and follow their schedules via remote learning witht their teachers. Athletics will continue as scheduled during this time. Student athletes will hear direct from their coaches on what's happening.
