A Democrat in the Monroe County Legislature will caucus with Republicans -- allowing them to hold on to a 15 to 14 majority.
Democrat Sabrina LaMar also has been chosen president of the legislature.
During the last two years, five Democrats in the legislature voted with Republicans. LaMar is the only remaining member of that independent group.
She says in a statment, "the Republican Caucus has listened, collaborated, and together, we have delivered successes for over two years for our residents."
