Hochul Extends Mask Mandate

Governor Hochul is extending her indoor mask mandate for all of New York State through at least February 1st. The order requiring masks in indoor places that don't have a COVID vaccine requirement was set to expire January 15th.

Hochul is also now mandating that all CUNY and SUNY college students and faculty show proof of the coronavirus booster shot if eligible starting January 15th.

Latest daily figures show there are more than 76 thousand COVID cases throughout the state, another record high. Hospitalizations continue to rise as well, with nearly eight-thousand, but that's still less than half of what it was compared to earlier in the pandemic.
