It broke out yesterday afternoon at 120 Melville Street. The fire damaged the first floor and smoke spread to the second floor and attic.
The Red Cross is assisting three adults and three children who lived there.
Fire crews found no working smoke detectors in the home.
No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The house is about two blocks from the address on Melville where someone fired shots into a home Monday night.
