Source: Forsythe to Plead Guilty to Reduced Charge

A source has told WHAM 1180's Bob Lonsberry that former Greece Police Chief Drew Forsythe plans to plead guilty in Ogden Town Court tomorrow on a charge of Driving With Ability Impaired. The DWAI charge would be a reduction from the Driving While Intoxicated charge originally filed against him after an investigation by the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.

The source says Forsythe will make a public apology for his conduct in drinking and driving, and crashing his department-issued SUV on Route 390.

Forsythe was to have been arraigned on the DWI charge last week but all three Greece Town Justices recused themselves. The case was then moved to Ogden.

In an unrelated move, Greece Supervisor Bill Reilich is expected to name Forsythe's replacement as police chief in a news conference Thursday morning.
