Two Fires Overnight in Rochester

We are waiting for word on the cause of a fire at the Southeast Towers apartments at Manhattan Square.

The fire was reported shortly after 2 a.m. at the 17-story building.

Smoke was visible through the windows on many floors.

The building has 336 affordable housing apartments. Many residents sheltered in place.

The fire was brought under control in under an hour.

The Red Cross is assisting tenants who were displaced by a fire at an apartment house on Culver Road, in Rochester's Beechwood neighborhood.

No one was hurt in the fire last night at the two-story house with an attached storefront.

The fire originated in the business and spread into the walls and the adjoining first-floor apartment.

There is no word on how it started either.
