Mayor Warren's Mic Drop

Outgoing Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren released her farewell address today...saying she's confident in the city's people and has hope for its children.

Warren says she created new opportunities for city residents and celebrated their diversity by putting together a team that believed Rochester's best days were ahead of it, not behind. She says she made demonstrable progress on all of her agenda, creating more jobs, safer and more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities.

Warren resigns effective at midnight. She agreed to resign as part of a plea deal to settle campaign finance and firearm charges against her. She says she has no regrets.

Deputy Mayor James Smith will serve as acting mayor through the end of December. Mayor-elect Malik Evans takes over in January.
