Governor Hochul Warns that COVID-19 Numbers are Unacceptably High in WNY

Governor Hochul warns that COVID-19 numbers are "unacceptably high" in Western New York and the Finger Lakes region.

She blames vaccine hesitancy, and she says that close to ten percent of residents who haven't gotten the shot are holding things back.

The governor reports there's an infection rate of around eight percent for the Western New York region, compared to around one percent in New York City for example.

Hochul pointed out that while 206 patients were hospitalized in Western New York two weeks ago, 299 are now being treated at medical centers.
