The principal at Geneva Middle School has been arrested for what police call an "inappropriate encounter" with a child under 17 at school.
John DeFazio is charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The alleged encounter happened on October 5.
The Geneva City School District says DeFazio was put on leave while police conducted the investigation.
The district's head of athletics and strategic initiatives, Tricia Budgar, has been named acting principal.
