Relatives say Spencerport abduction victim Jessica Northrup had been involved on and off for years with her abductor, Paul Collen, and they had four children together.
Northrup's sister, Deborah Deegan, tells News10NBC that Northrup was trying to end an abusive relationship with Collen and had been granted a protective order.
Deegan says Northrup had tried to get Collen a mental health evaluation.
Northrup was able to get away from Collen yesterday morning, and he was found dead later from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
