The Historic Susan B. Anthony house in Rochester caught fire early this morning, with fire hitting the back porch of the house shortly after 1:00 in the morning.
Rochester Fire Department companies arrived within two minutes and firefighters forced their way into the building, protecting the artifacts inside from damage.
Batallion Fire Chief Joseph Luna says they did a great job in limiting the damage to the back of the building.
The Rochester Fire Investigation Unit has listed the cause of the fire as "suspicious" and it remains under investigation. Nobody was injured.
The house is where Susan B. Anthony was arrested for voting in the 1872 Presidential Election.
