Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and County Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza say the county had 99 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday...a sign that cases are beginning to taper down. But the seven-day rolling average is still 142 new cases per day. A week ago it was 192 new cases and an average of 170.
Bello said this is still a high COVID Transmission Area according to the CDC, and he said the county is getting ready to reopen a mass vaccination site as the time approaches for COVID booster shots. He says it will require a location and hiring staff...
Bello says more than 453,000 Monroe County residents have completed their vaccination series, and more than 485,000 have received at least one dose. That covers more than 75 percent of the county population.
