Governor Cuomo has announced that all healthcare workers in the state must be vaccinated against COVID-19 by September 27.
Hospitals and long-term care facilities must come up with a formal vaccine mandate policy for all workers -- with limited exceptions for religious or medical reasons.
The state says 75 percent of the state's hospital workers -- and 68 percent of the state's nursing home workers -- are fully vaccinated.
Meantime, the state health department has authorized a third COVID-19 vaccine dose for New Yorkers with compromised immune systems.
