The local COVID case numbers are still climbing.

The CDC says the COVID transmission risk in Monroe County is now considered "high".

The County Health Department confirmed 168 new cases since Tuesday, and the positive test rate has risen to 4.5 percent.

The number of people hospitalized is the highest since early June.

Since the pandemic began, more than 69,000 cases have been confirmed in Monroe County and 1,351 patients have died.

Orleans and Wayne counties have a "substantial" risk of transmission, while Genesee, Livingston and Ontario Counties have a "moderate" risk.
