The New York State Assembly Judiciary Committee is wrapping up an impeachment investigation into Governor Andrew Cuomo. The committee plans to meet Monday to discuss a state attorney general report accusing Cuomo of sexually harassing numerous women. Assemblyman Michael Montesano is on the committee and says the votes are there in the Assembly and Senate to impeach the governor. He says if Cuomo doesn't step down, the impeachment process will cost taxpayers millions of dollars and could drag out. Cuomo denies wrongdoing and has yet to speak out since he released a recorded video in response to the allegations.
Meanwhile, a former staffer who accused Governor Andrew Cuomo of groping her has filed a criminal complaint. The Albany County Sheriff's office received the complaint and notified the district attorney's office. Reports indicate the woman who filed the complaint was identified as "Executive Assistant number-one" in the report released last week by the Attorney General's office, which accused Governor Cuomo of sexually harassing multiple women. Within that report, it's alleged Governor Cuomo touched the same woman's backside while they took a "selfie" photo together.
